HIPE Data Set

The High-resolution Industrial Production Energy (HIPE) data set contains smart meter readings of ten machines and the main terminal of a power-electronics production plant over three months.

The accompanying publication (published by ACM) describes the data set and outlines open challenges and use cases with industrial energy data. This includes a discussion of characteristics of industrial machines and of differences to residential appliances.

Example week profile of active power consumption for factory machines.

The current version of HIPE is 1.0.1 (2019-05-01). The archive contains 11 files, one for each smart meter. Each file contains comma-separated values with 114 columns for two-phase sensors and 362 columns for three-phase sensors.

The data has been preprocessed to remove measurement errors. We provide the raw data and describe the preprocessing steps on a separate page.
